Payless provides life insurance equal to 1x annual pay. Company-provided employee life insurance begins at six months of employment. Associates may purchase additional amounts of coverage for themselves and eligible family members. Associates are eligible for short-term disability (STD) coverage, which provides a benefit equal to 60% of pay for up to 90 days if the associate is unable to work due to an illness or injury. Associates also may choose to purchase Long-Term Disability Insurance (LTD) immediately upon employment. This plan provides a benefit equal to 60% of pay, after a 90-day waiting period, if the associate becomes totally and permanently disabled.
