Everyone knows that the personal satisfaction of a job well done is
all you need, right? Wrong. We think our associates do amazing
things, and we believe a pat on the back is the least we can do.
That’s why we
have a culture that encourages personal, informal feedback between
all associates — up,
down and sideways!
We also have programs in our stores and in the corporate office
to recognize excellence by individuals and teams. Our quarterly
and annual Pinnacle Awards program, for example, recognizes top store
and district performers in our three regions, as well as outstanding contributions
in each of 11 function areas in our corporate office. In addition
to the adulation of management and their peers, Pinnacle Award recipients
receive an impressive plaque (take it to your next class reunion) and a small
monetary award.
